Choose one clear removal instruction
Several people may care about the same property. Before requesting collection, agree who is responsible for the final item list and site access. If ownership or permission is unresolved, keep that item out of the removal scope until it is settled.
Use plain labels: keep, remove and undecided. A separate room or clearly marked shelving can make the keep boundary easier to follow. Do not rely on memory or assume an unmarked box has no value.
Set aside personal material first
Look for family photographs, identification, financial records, keys, small valuables and personal keepsakes before the removal day. Remove private documents from drawers and electronic devices from the general pile until you have handled their data appropriately.
Sandlot’s role is the physical cleanout. The service does not establish estate appraisal, legal administration or certified data destruction. If you need those services, arrange them before handing over the final remove list.
Photograph every space in the scope
A whole-property request should identify each room, garage, attic or storage area involved. Capture an overview of each area and describe any space that could not safely be photographed. Include stairs, narrow doors, an attic hatch and the route to loading.
List large furniture and appliances separately from boxes and loose household contents. Identify building debris, paint, fuel, chemicals and other unusual material. Hazardous materials are not accepted and need an appropriate separate disposal route.
Arrange a practical handover
Tell Sandlot the target date, who will meet the crew and whether certain rooms should be cleared before others. A walkthrough may be needed for a larger or uncertain scope. Wait for an agreed price and confirmed appointment before scheduling dependent work around it.
Ask what removal and cleanup will leave behind for the next step. Sandlot removes debris and sweeps the work area; do not assume deep cleaning, repairs or property-sale preparation are included. Donation or recycling may be practical for usable items, but acceptance is not guaranteed.
