Donation: confirm acceptance first
Contact the intended organization with photos, dimensions and an honest description of condition. Ask whether it accepts that type of item and whether collection from your actual location is offered. A usable sofa does not automatically qualify for every organization.
Keep rejected or uncertain items out of an assumed donation booking. Ask which parts of a set are accepted and whether stairs, disassembly or a long carry change the collection arrangement.
Resale: account for pickup as well as price
Selling an item can be worthwhile when there is a buyer and enough time to coordinate collection. Agree which pieces are included and how the item will leave the property. Do not treat an inquiry from a buyer as a completed sale or a confirmed removal plan.
If a move-out deadline is close, compare that uncertainty with a confirmed pickup estimate. Protect personal belongings and use a clear keep list when several items are being collected.
Removal: agree on the whole load
Ask Sandlot for an estimate covering the items, lifting and access you actually need. Include belongings from every pickup area and note any conditions that affect handling. Sandlot confirms the price before work starts; there is no fixed published price for every sofa or garage load.
Sandlot sorts usable materials for donation or recycling where practical. That is a practical effort, not a guarantee that a particular charity receives your items or that nothing goes to disposal. Hazardous materials are excluded from Sandlot’s service.
