Plan your shed & small-structure demolition.

Sandlot reviews sheds, decks, fences, carports and small outbuildings for teardown and haul-off. Photos should show the structure, its connections and the route from the work area to the truck.

Describe the whole structure

Give approximate length, width and height. Note whether the structure is wood, metal or masonry, whether it is attached to the house and whether it sits on a slab. Photograph all accessible sides from a safe position. A roof view from ground level is more useful than climbing onto an uncertain structure.

Decide whether the slab, posts or footings should remain. Demolishing the shed above a slab and removing the slab as well are different scopes. List contents inside the shed separately, including anything you want saved.

Check connections and permissions

Tell Sandlot about electricity, plumbing, gas, irrigation or other known connections. Utility work and approvals need to be resolved before teardown. Do not assume a small structure is exempt from local permits or that a fence is entirely on your property.

For shared fences or structures near a property line, resolve ownership and access with the appropriate parties first. Sandlot can assess the removal job once those boundaries are clear. Hazardous roofing, chemicals or other suspect materials need separate handling.

Show the access that equipment cannot guess

Measure the narrowest gate and describe steps, slopes, landscaping and nearby structures. Include a photo looking back from the structure toward the loading location. A backyard with a narrow side passage is a different job from an open driveway.

Before the appointment, remove valuables and identify protected plants or surfaces. Keep people and pets away from an unstable structure. The team confirms what can be taken down, hauled and cleaned after reviewing conditions.

Is the concrete base included?

Only if it is included in the agreed scope. Request slab or footing removal explicitly and provide dimensions so Sandlot can assess it alongside the structure.
